Key Tactics
An ideal opening hand is A’wun’s, Shapeshifter, and Form of the Elk. If you go second, which you often will with Life, you’ll be able to cast all three, Transform Farfune for free, as well as pay for Elk’s Transform, letting you attack for 7 damage that you will refresh from at the end of the turn and get an additional Source.
In general Shapeshifter is extremely good for Farfune since it removes his expensive Transform cost. Also, don’t forget that you can use Shapeshifter on the opponent’s turn, to Transform back and Heal with Reknitting Flesh or switch/add Form of the Asp if getting attacked by Souls.
If you don’t have the cards you need even after mulliganing, use Hawk or Rhino + Owl, so you can start searching for your combo pieces. The Owl’s ability to take damage from the Source Deck will help you survive during this, or use Form of the Turtle until the end of the opponent’s turn and then Transform into Owl to trigger the search ability.
Bestial Intelligence doesn’t have to be one of your first plays but it becomes very important mid to late game so you can use Evolved Body while you are Transformed to defend yourself, especially against Spells, which this deck is weak against.
Don’t worry if you lose a key card early, like A’wun’s. You have enough Healing that you’ll be able to cycle it back.
Reclaimed by Nature can setup a Soul that you can Overkill using Form of the Rhino, pushing damage through to the Summoner without worry of taking an attack back from them.
If you’re facing another Enhance deck, especially one with lingering Spells, you’ll want to swap in an Orb of Unmaking for Reclaimed by Nature. And if you’re not getting your important one-offs consistently enough, like Bestial Intelligence or Shapeshifter, you can add a second while removing less important Forms, like Hawk, Rhino, or Turtle, depending on the match up.
