Key Tactics

Your goal is to have Kitsanya on the field and use her and At the Ready to counter everything while you grind your opponent down with a swarm of knights.

This deck looks simple but it requires careful resource management, both source and cards. For source, don’t play Kitsanya unless you’ll have a ready source to protect her with. Ideally you’ll play her by devoting three sources and have three more to protect her. Generally with Kitsanya on the field you want to keep three ready sources at all times. Even if you don’t have a Protection or At the Ready you want your opponent to think you do.

For cards. If you play second you start with four cards, on your first turn you draw two Sources and play a Paladin. Now you’re down to three, if you lose any to hand blocking your hand is looking very thin. You will need to explode three or four sources at your earliest opportunity. If your opponent is playing slow using your source power on turn two or three (if you have no scribes) can help.

Letting a Paladin die to preserve a more valuable card in hand can be a good move. Letting a scribe die is nearly always a good move. Most decks don’t have more than a few souls at any one time so Fate’s Judgement doesn’t need Bolster. As for Protection, you can usually source explode soon after playing Kitsanya.

Your greatest threat is rush decks, your only real counter to them is handblocking. Hilbrand can stop a rush in its tracks if you draw him. If you don’t consider searching for him, not Kitsanya. She’s too slow to counter rush decks.
