Key Tactics

This deck has one purpose, to bring out Crashhal and enhance him into a mountain of stats and abilities.

Use your strength potion for early pressure or to make a good trade with a Metal Golem or Delver, use your health potion in emergencies or to heal a soul. However, save your vitality potion for craftsmen. Have them copy a vitality potion and refresh themselves every turn to fill out your discard. And don’t hesitate to give up any of your Mythics for Nikkrim’s ultimate potion, you need it to protect your champion and Crashhal can return from Discard.

Discarding Crashhal himself is usually a good idea. Not only can he easily return, getting him out of Discard is a great way to get an expensive relic like Vampire Blade into discard so Crashhal can access its abilities. If you need to, give Crashhal the abilities of a potion and then “drink” him.

Don’t be afraid to mulligan heavily. You need your combo pieces or this deck will flounder. And you either draw Crashhal or move him closer to the top of your deck where damage can help you find him. For the same reason, don’t be afraid to take damage. With three dwarf Delvers and Crashhall the right damage can help set you up.

If you haven’t drawn Crashhal, focus on preparing your discard for his arrival, put Long Handled Axes or Hateful Hammers (or Crushing Hammers via a Craftsman) onto cheap souls and use them aggressively. Bring out Spine Crunchers — your opponent will usually kill them or die to them.

Death Source is included for a few reasons: so that your extra Mythics are Relics, so that you can use Death Source Power to cycle your Discard, and if needed, Death Source Explosion for removal.
